The Independence Business Alliance provides tremendous value to member businesses through business development opportunities, marketing exposure to businesses and consumers, representation in the regional and national LGBTQ+ and business communities, resources for business growth and operation, and advocacy for civil rights and business-friendly public policy.


The IBA encourages enterprises of all sizes and industries – LGBTQ+-owned and LGBTQ+-friendly (allies welcome and encouraged!) – throughout the Greater Philadelphia region and beyond to join our vibrant network of businesses and corporations. Members must abide by the IBA Code of Conduct to remain in good standing. All Members receive:

Eligibility: age 21+, full-time enrollment in undergraduate or graduate educational program

Benefits: 

  • Inclusion in member directory
  • Member-level pricing to IBA events 
  • Member-level pricing for one person to premier events (Business Leaders Luncheon and Annual IBA Holiday Party)
  • Free access for one person to all ConnX throughout the year

Experienced professionals seeking to give back to the community, engage in mentorship, and/or participate in social events.

Eligibility: A young professional is between the ages of 21 and 35 years old 


Benefits: 

  • Informal facilitator networking program (matching up young professionals and retirees together)
  • Referral program to bring in other YP to our events
  • Programming with other YP groups and co facilitating events 
  • Eligibility: Nonprofit organization, with established partnership
  • Benefits:
    • Can send representatives to events at member pricing
    • Educational workshops focused on the nonprofit sector (ex: grant writing, fundraising, and nonprofit management)
    • Join network of other LGBTQ+ and allied nonprofit organizations in the greater Philadelphia region to further build connections and support

Eligibility: LGBTQ+ individuals and allies, including business owners who do not seek certification, ERG leaders, and others in the business world.

Eligibility: 

This level is suited for small businesses owners that are seeking LGBTBE Certification and/or other business growth opportunities, especially those who might have started their business < 3 years ago. If joining the IBA for the first time, folks can join at a lower cost ($250) and after the 1st year they can be bumped up to the full level of $350.
